Almost there...!

It is now, what? The last two weeks of school? I have next week and the week after is finals! It is amazing to think I have now been in a year of college! Time really passes by fast! A year ago I was a high school senior ready to graduate! And now I am in college and working on getting my future in line! I am glad I don't have to use a map to navigate around campus anymore, though! That was fun when I first got here, ha ha. But, last two weeks. Wow! I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do this summer. After high school, it's all different, it seems.

I think I will be staying with some friends I made at UCA and live in a new city for the summer and get a job and just have time to spend with my new lovely friends. I think some activities will be me learning to drive, getting my first job, camping with friends, crazy conversations, late night fun, movie marathons(at least I think so), tour of the town, complaining about the heat, and other things.

I hinted about the possibility of going to Canada this summer, but because I do not have a passport or enough preparations, I don't think I will be going. But let me tell you about it. It's a French immersion program in Nova Scotia. Had I a passport and everything else a couple of months ago, I would have been able to go, but life is life. Any way, the thought of going to another country and speaking only in French so soon after high school is such a cool idea to me. It would have been a perfect time, but circumstances stand in my way. If you are a business major or minor, you can apply for a grant to study in Canada and work with French or English and get experience outside of America. :) So, I highly encourage people in this field to go!

I'm still trying to catch up on work and study for my finals. It'll be a crazy end to the semester, but so worth it if everything pans out! College is busy, but so great. I'm so very glad I came to UCA and met all the people I have so far and spend time with them.

I'm going to go in another direction here, because I spaced out and lost my train of thought. And the sweet, sweet coolness of the air conditioner. Which is turned back on, by the way. For a while we had neither heater nor air conditioner. And it seems summer is wanting to come, as the temperature has gone up to 87 degrees Fahrenheit today. Now, heat is all good and everything -- helps the Earth not die and whatever -- but I dislike heat. I like my coldness. You know? You can do something about the cold: put on more clothes. But with heat, it's just. Hot. And sticky. And burning. And makes me tired and energyless. Boo on heat. But it can be good as well, I suppose.

Even though it's getting hotter, I am looking forward to summer. So, we're on a countdown to summer, now. And that countdown is over after May 8, 2009 for me. :)

I'll blog again before then. And I'll continue in next year, too! So sophomore experience will be fun! I'll be living in Baridon which is the building right behind my current dorm of Short/Denney hall. :) So I'm not going too far next year and get to room with my friend I made here. He will be an RA. I just have to find another friend to room with me.

Ahhh! Next year will be great! I'll be taking some new classes, but even boring classes have interesting times, so we'll see how it all comes out. This semester still has a lot to go before it's over though, so I will have to wait! :)

See you all again!

It's winding down... but not really!

So, like in high school, as the last semester winds down, so, too, would the work load wind down, you would think. But, oh no, college is so much different -- the semester may be winding down in days of time, but the work load and business only keeps getting more lengthy!!! Not always a bad thing, it's just really, really hard to keep up and keep doing things you once did when the semester wasn't as busy. So... here's a tip that may seem obvious, but sometimes so hard to do!

CollegeTip: Stay on top of things!!!

This past weekend I stayed with my friends I've made at Conway and had a birthday party for a friend(she really enjoyed it) and then played Final Fantasy XII on my friend's PS2 -- addicting game! I played about 10-to-14 hours of it this weekend while I was zombified on the couch. I also got out and walked around campus with the same friends while people were gone for Easter weekend. I tell you, this campus... beautiful! I really admire the care the gardeners or whoever keep up with the campus because it's really great. I've been meaning to take some pictures and upload them online, so perhaps I can show them to you all(if you haven't visited the campus yet, now's a great time to see the beauty of the budding trees and colorful flowers!) and upload them onto here or somewhere. =)

But like I was saying, we went to the Harding Plaza, which has to be my favorite spot on campus. It's this beautiful fountain area with these awesome columns and flowers around. You should know it from pictures on the main site, I think. Any way, there's this giant tree nearby, too. The whole area is just a great sit-and-read spot! We went there and sat by the fountain for a while, listening and soaking in the beautiful day. It's really relaxing and in the midst of chaotic work and busy times, I like to just go there and let my mind wander and unwind.

I'm hoping to go to Canada this summer, but I'll blog about that next time, it's already 3AM on a weeknight! ;)

See you later in the week and keep reading, the semester is so not over yet!

Around and back again.

Spring break is over, as well as another break I've shamefully had -- blogging. The past weeks have been busy and hard as I fought sickness and grade-slippage and personal conflicts. But I decided to get in and be assertive to get this done. :)

Spring break came and I stayed in the dorm(which I believe you won't be able to do next year) and hung out with my RA friends for half the week and then slept a lot and relaxed the rest of the week(as well as fretted over how to begin a paper).

Today it rained and stormed a bit randomly, it seemed, but it's over now. You know, I'm glad I didn't have class today, or else I would have had to go out in it and my umbrella hasn't recovered from last semester's storms after the hurricanes!

April Fool's day was yesterday and I avoided any real "pranks" on me, and one of my professors wanted to do something but then remembered midway through class she forgot to think of something. And later that night, the fire alarm went off in the dorm -- making me think it was an ill-humored prank, but it was actually someone opening their door from taking a hot shower and all the steam set the alarm off! Looks like you just got a tip for the future on what not to do. ;)

The flowers are starting to come out and look nice around campus. It's really pretty and nice to see such colorful flowers around! I think I prefer the turning colors of autumn though, the trees are beautiful then!

We have about a month of school left, I think. So I'm getting antsy about my first year ending -- it's flown by so fast! Really amazing to think about it. Next semester I can see all the new freshmen and be able to help like I've been helped(and probably will continued to be helped) by random people in the upper classifications.

Next week I'll try to find another helpful tip to depart to you incoming freshmen reading this!

'Til next time!
